Laughing Stock Vineyard’s Winemaker Dinner
Laughing Stock Vineyards is a small-production winery making ultra-premium wines in the much heralded Naramata Bench region of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. Co-owners Cynthia (vineyard manager) and David Enns (winemaker) will personally introduce their 2009 ‘Portfolio’ and 2009 ‘Blind Trust’ Bordeaux blend wines, while also discussing their philosophy and practices at Laughing Stock, and the unique characteristics of the Naramata Bench. Laughing Stock wines are consistently judged amongst the best from British Columbia, and the 2009 Portfolio has already been named a top 25 wine in 2011 (91-93 points) by Icon Wines, and awarded a gold medal the 2011 British Columbia Wine awards. We know Laughing Stock will soon have a passionate following here in Japan as well.
The evening’s dinner will also feature the impressive wines from Canada’s 2011 and 2012 Canadian winery of the year, Vineland, Ontario’s Tawse Winery. Like Laughing Stock, Tawse is a no-compromise winery garnering accolades from the likes of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s co-owner Aubert de Villaine. Tawse’s award-winning Sparkling Pinot Noir Rosé, Chardonnay and Riesling icewines round out a spectacular 5-course meal prepared by the Roppongi Hills Club’s Canadian Chef.
