Overview

Over the past 25 years, global pension assets have grown threefold from ~$15 trillion to ~$45 trillion. The U.S. remains the largest market, with a 64% share of global pension assets. This has largely been driven by investing in global equities.

The evolution of the global markets has resulted in a proliferation of investment managers and new asset classes. Most recently, some of the trends observed include Sustainable Investing and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which has seeped into pension investments further fueling the ongoing debate of Active vs. Passive investing. 

After a 40-year secular trend of declining interest rates, both inflation and interest rates have increased globally in the aftermath of the global pandemic. We have seen geo-political tensions, supply-side disruptions, and rising energy costs which have all distorted consumer prices, leading to higher costs of living, globally.

Our speakers will delve into these key topics, trends, and concerns shared by institutional investors in recent years.
