Charity concert featuring Lisa Yui
The Embassy of Canada presents Canadian Pianist Lisa Yui at the Oscar Peterson Theatre as part of the Government of Canada Workplace Charity Campaign (GCWCC). Lisa Yui enjoys a multifaceted musical career as pianist, lecturer, teacher, author, and musical director. She has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia as a recitalist and solist and, since the age of seven, with orchestras such as the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Polish National Radio Orchestra, and Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Her performances have been broadcast on WQXR (New York), CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation) national radio, and STV (Sapporo, Japan). She won the Senigallia International Piano Competition in Italy, the Toronto Symphony Concerto Competition, and has twice been the recipient of a Canada Council Scholarship. In 2005, she was selected among over 1,000 Canadian artists to participate in the World Exposition in Aichi, Japan. She is currently on the faculties of Manhattan School of Music and Montclair University.
