University of Regina - Pain Assessment in Dementia: From Evidence to Application

CCCJ is pleased to co-host a lecture event, with University of Regina, with Professor Thomas Hadjistavropoulos on Thursday, November 7th at the Embassy of Canada to Japan.

Pain in people with limited ability to communicate due to dementia is common but often undertreated due to limitations in ability for those afflicted to communicate pain due to severe cognitive impairment.  Professor Thomas Hadjistavropoulos is the University of Regina’s Research Chair in Aging and Health, and a Registered Doctoral Psychologist. His presentation will focus on developments in observational approaches to pain assessment, including technology such as computer vision systems designed to automatically identify pain behaviour, tablet apps and other solutions for overcoming clinical gaps and implementation challenges.

Simultaneous translation will be provided. The lecture will be followed by a reception.  Space is limited, so please register before tickets are sold out!
