Women in Leadership
The Women in Business Committee welcomes the distinguished Ms. Susan Roos, employment attorney and wife of U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Roos, for what promises to be a thought-provoking address on the challenges women face in the global workplace.
Born in North Dakota, Ms. Roos attended Stanford University before earning her J.D. at the University of Southern California. Ms. Roos then practiced labor/employment law, defending employers in all aspects of employment-related matters, including wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, ADA access issues, and trade secret litigation before both federal and state courts. She was a partner at the prestigious Los Angeles-based firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton before starting her own firm in 1995. Arriving in Japan in August 2009 with her husband and two children, Ms. Roos has been very active in both the American expatriate and Japanese communities.
Sign up early for what looks to be a highly popular and interesting event, the second in the Women in Business Committee series on the role of Women in Business.
