Conversations toward a Canada/Japan EPA

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (CCCJ), with the support of the Keidanren and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CCC), invite you to a high-level symposium on November 2nd regarding the proposed Canada-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). The symposium is honoured to have the support of the Embassy of Canada to Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI).

Canadian Thanksgiving Reception

 

Following October's Board & Committee meeting, the CCCJ has arranged for a Canadian Thanksgiving reception, complete with turkey and all the fixings! Our Canadian Thanksgiving reception will take place at Roppongi Hills Club and will include participation from Members of the CCCJ Honorary Board of Advisors. This post-meeting turkey reception offers a great opportunity to socialize with fellow Members of the CCCJ over a fine-spread of seasonable food & drink in a very Canadian atmosphere.

Gender Diversity in the Board Room

CCCJ Event arranged in cooperation with The Board Director Training Institute of Japan, TMI Associates, the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, the French Chamber of Commerce in Japan, and with participation by McKinsey & Company Inc Japan.

When Italy has recently passed a law requiring the boards of listed companies to have 20% of their boards be comprised by women as of 2012 and 33% by 2015, you know that the issue of “gender diversity” has reached some sort of critical mass.

This month’s Mixer is to be held at bierVana in Akasaka Mitsuke. Come join us in celebrating this new chapter in CCCJ history, while socializing over a fine spread of food and Canadian beer! The cost includes buffet and 3 drink tickets.

After 7 is a networking event where managers, executives and CEOs come together for an informal and relaxed party to swap contacts and explore relationships.

APEC Workshop “Increasing FTA Utilization by SMEs”

CCCJ members are welcomed to join this APEC workshop "Increasing FTA Utilization by SMEs", at which Wilf Wakely, President of the CCCJ, among a number of other speakers will be providing background on how SMEs can best utilize FTA's to gain success in the Asia-Pacific economy.
SMEs are a source of strengthening economic growth and creating new ideas and technologies for innovation. Therefore, to increase SMEs trade is one of the best approaches for promoting economic growth, increasing employment, and drastically changing the quality of life in the Asia Pacific region.
