CCCJ Welcomes High School Students from Rikuzentakata, Iwate
As a part of the CCCJ's Tohoku Support Committee’s long-term commitment to backing the redevelopment of Tohoku, the CCCJ together with NPO Ganbatte 365 welcomed 14 students from Takata Senior High School in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, who arrived on Sunday, March 16th for a weeklong homestay and work experience program. CCCJ members led by Neil van Wouw secured the generous cooperation of the business community to open their offices, their homes and their hearts to these young people from one of Tohoku’s hardest-hit areas.
Some photos from the kick-off orientation and get-together on Thursday, March 20 can be seen below.
Congratulations to all of the host families and firms, and a big Canadian welcome to these young people! Stay tuned for reports on the students' Tokyo experiences.
The CCCJ thanks all the program sponsors for their support and contributions. We'd also like to give special thanks to:
