1     Report on Nominations for the 2014 CCCJ Election

A call for nominations was sent to every member by e-mail on April 22nd, 2014.

I am very pleased to report that we had an excellent response this year to our call for nominations of candidates to serve on our Board of Governors. The following nine candidates (listed below in first-name alphabetical order) have been nominated for election as Governors to fill the seven openings:

     1. Katsura Sunshine
     2. Neil van Wouw
     3. Naohiro (Bob) Iwami
     4. Oliver Ormrod
     5. Robert Fuller
     6. Sam Gildart
     7. Tad Furuta
     8. Warren Arbuckle
     9. Yuko Sudoh

2     Candidate Profiles

Please find attached a file titled ‘2014 Election Candidate Profiles’ containing profiles of the candidates for Governor.  All candidates are members in good standing and were duly nominated pursuant to the CCCJ’s Constitution and By-laws. We encourage you to read through each candidate’s profile before voting.  Copies will also be made available on the CCCJ website.

3      Key Dates to Remember

  • June 02 – Call for Annual Election
    This letter and the candidate profiles are being sent out to all members serving as a Call for Annual Election. Thank you to all candidates for your submissions
     
  • June 04 – Meet the Candidates 1.  Rakugo Event @ Roppongi Hills Club
    Opportunity 1 to meet the candidates will be at the CCCJ’s Rakugo event which will be held at the Roppongi Hills Club from 18:30 – 22:30.
     
  • June 11 – Meet the Candidates 2.  Candidate presentations to members @ CCCJ Office, followed by happy hour at Roti
    Meet and mingle with candidates. Follow-up happy hour at Roti.
  • June 20 – Balloting Opens
    Online balloting will open at 11:59 AM Japan Standard Time.
     
  • June 25 – Meet the Candidates 3. @ TMI.
    Meet the candidates at TMI followed by reception. Reception at Roppongi Hills Club Star Bar.
     
  • June 30 – Balloting Closes
    Online balloting will close at 11:59 AM Japan Standard Time.
     
  • July 1st  – Election Results
    Election results will be made public at the CCCJ Annual General Meeting held on July 1st, 2014.  The AGM will be followed by a Canada Day reception at Roti in Roppongi.
